Drama in four acts. The action takes place in the time of Erik Bloodaxe, in the island of Helgeland, to the north of Norway.

Esta obra fue publicada como un suplemento en la revista literaria Illustreret Nyhedsblad, en Christiania, el 25 de abril de 1858. La primera representación tuvo lugar en el propio teatro de Ibsen, el Kristiania Norske Theater, el 24 de noviembre de 1858.

This work was published as a supplement in the literary magazine Illustreret Nyhedsblad, in Christiania, 25 of April of 1858. The first representation took place in the own theater of Ibsen, Kristiania Norske Theater, the 24 of november of 1858.
